User review: Nothing to complain about
April 15, 2009 by Thomas Becker
Since I bought my blue Samsung NC10 about 4 weeks ago, I’ve had a great time with it.
The netbook’s keyboard is 93% the size of a full keyboard and unlike the Eee PC or the MSI Wind, the key placement is almost exactly like a regular keyboard. By now, I’m able to type pretty fast on this keyboard.
Since purchasing the computer I have added an extra 1 GB RAM by buying a 2 GB stick. The upgrade was easy, but I still think this should be standard when you get the machine.
I also purchased an external DVD burner, but haven’t used it very often yet. You can get almost everything done with an USB flash drive.
Concerning the operating system and performance, I installed three different systems (Windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu 9.04) so far and I haven’t had any problems with any of them. In fact, Windows 7 runs great, maybe a little faster than XP. Ubuntu runs out of the box and has a nice interface.
The battery life is between 5-6 hours. I was surprised, but it really holds forever, quite handy for rides on the train.
I give the NC10 five stars, because it is more than sufficient for my needs.
