I received my Asus Eee PC 1000HE last week and I like it very much so far! It’s connection capabilities are exceptional, the wireless antenna is very good, maintaining my signal up all the time. Bluetooth is also very fast and reliable. I’ve been using Bluetooth 2.0 for music streaming to my receiver for over two years now, using different laptops from HP, Toshiba, Acer, etc. The 1000HE is very solid in that regard.

The new battery is also very good. It lasts around 5 hours in High Performance Mode and up to 8.5 hours in Power Saving Mode. The Asus Super Hybrid Engine really works.

I also connected my Eee PC to my large TV screen to see if this little netbook could fill up to 50 inches of LCD Samsung display. It worked flawlessly and I was able to make a nice slideshow of my last trip to Singapore with my wife. It’s possible to connect the 1000HE to an external monitor. Makes working on it easier if you are at home.

At first, I was a little concerned about the keyboard, because I have pretty big hands. After typing some text, I can confirm that the keyboard is very nice and absolutely great for everyday use, regardless how big your hands are ;)

But I’m most amazed with the screen. It’s just great! The brightness can be adjusted and most of the time I have to turn it down, because it’s so bright. In dark rooms it just hurts your eyes sometimes. Superb display!

All in all, great netbook for an excellent price. You absolutely get what is promised. I upgraded it to 2GB RAM and feels faster now. I would definitively recommend the Eee PC 1000HE.
