Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless protocol for exchanging data and voice from fixed and mobile devices based on radio waves. This wireless data transfer technology is used in various Bluetooth-supporting devices including laptop/notebook computers, cell phones, headsets, keyboards and mice.

Bluetooth uses radio waves to ensure a stable connection between the communicating devices and therefore overcomes drawbacks of infrared, for example. Bluetooth uses a 2.4 GHz short-range radio frequency so that all Bluetooth-enabled devices are compatible to each other. Because of its high frequency, the range of the communication is limited to maximal 100 meters.
